                Welcome to the RuDASA Rural Health Conference 2011 website


                This year's Rural Health Conference, titled "Making Primary Health Care Better', took place from 8-10 September 2011 in the picturesque village of Rhodes in the Eastern Cape.

                The conference was attended by more than170 delegates from 8 provinces and 7 medical schools, representing 8 medical professions - a truly diverse representation of rural health workers in South Africa.


                The presentations we of a very high standard and stimulated much debate and discussion. For summaries of the various tracks, as well as presentations available for download, please visit the presentations page.


                The Rural Doctor of the Year award for 2011 was presented at the conference. We congratulate Dr, and Dr Liz Gatley from Zithulele Hospital in the Eastern Cape on their achievements.                 Many thanks go to everyone who put in so much effort to ensure that the conference was a success, including the outgoing conference committee, the sponsors and exhibitors, and the village of Rhodes for being such gracious hosts.
